Manchester United - Trouble at mill?

Staff Writer - 18 Jan 2010

With the rise of Man City as a force in English football and the possible deflation of Manchester United's ridiculously high standards, tomorrow night's game will once again be a barometer to where each team sits in the pantheon of British clubs.

What is of interest is the rumours coming out of Old Trafford that some bickering has entered the fray within the team. By all accounts the genuine superstars are finding frustrations with the standard of play from the merely very good.

Therefore it is easy to see why a more settled City side are favourites for a Manchester Derby for the 1st time in many a moon. They are 5/4 to win the game at extrabet and on the spreads are 0-0.2 Goal Supremacy favourites. Man United are 11/5 with the draw 7/4.

However Derby's have a tenancy to brim over with regards tempers and as such the Bookings price on the spreads of 58-62 is of serious interest (remember it's 10 pts awarded per yellow show, 25pts per red)

United have always come back from dips of form in the past but 4 wins from the last 8 games against a City side who've won 4 of their last 5 suggests Ferguson will need to arrest the situation soon.

"For the first time I can remember in 5 years punters are predominantly getting against Manchester United in the betting ring" says extrabet's Chris Shillington
